Centennial Sunday
April 19, 2009
Worship Service
| Our Centennial Sunday Worship Celebration was an outstanding event that will long be remembered by everyone who attended. For the first time in our church's history we had a single worship service that was held simultaneously in the Sanctuary, Rotunda, and Ministry Center. |
| The sign on the corner of Ellis and Jefferson announced our Centennial Sunday Worship and Celebration on April 19 at 10:00 a.m. Birthday cakes and lots of other food were ready. Although the weather was overcast and rainy, our spirits were high. |
| After pre-service music in both the Sanctuary and Ministry Center, our Westminster Choir and Centennial Orchestra, led by David Lincoln, performed "A Jubilant Song." |
| Following the call to worship by Rev. Caryle Aitken Wilkie was our opening processional, which began in the Ministry Center and concluded in the Sanctuary. It was led by Beadle Peter Wilkie and Bagpiper Peter Duffield and included our Pastor and Seminarian visitors as well as our Centennial Banners which showed "Celebrating Our Past, Believing in Our Future." |

| The sermon by Dr. Paul Kirbas, In This Place, which can be heard or downloaded in mp3 format from our Sermons page, was begun in the downstairs Ministry Center, continued as Paul walked up the stairs to the Rotunda, and concluded in the Sanctuary. It was heard clearly from all locations. |

| The Westminster Choir and the Centennial Orchestra assembled in the Sanctuary. Our Celebration Ringers and the Humble Singers (Men's Chorus) provided worship leadership in the Ministry Center as shown below. |
