Dr. Douglas J. Brouwer, Pastor, Head of Staff of First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton 1991-2004, and his family were missed at our Centennial Sunday celebration.
Doug was Pastor, Head of Staff at First Presbyterian Church, Ann Arbor, MI, from 2004 until April 5, 2009. He began his new position as Senior Pastor, First Presbyterian Church, Ft. Lauderdale, FL - http://www.firstpres.cc - on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2009. Congratulations, Doug!
Doug and his wife, Susan DeYoung, have been married
for nearly 32 years. Their daughter Sarah Brouwer is now in
her final year at Luther Theological Seminary. Under the care of Twin Cities
Presbytery, Sarah is hoping to be ordained in the PCUSA within the next year.
She was married last summer—the joyous occasion for their family photograph. Their daughter
Elizabeth is a senior at the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, University of
Michigan. She is hoping to find an internship for next year in government before
applying to graduate school for the following year.
