LOGOS 2007 - 2008
|
LOGOS is our mid-week ministry for young people in Kindergarten through
8th grade. Meetings are on Wednesday evenings from October
through March each year. The goal of the ministry is to nurture a relationship
with Jesus Christ and Christian relationships with peers and adult leaders. This
is accomplished through a four-part program that includes Bible Study, Worship Skills,
Recreation, and a family-style dinner. The program requires a commitment from
each participating family to support the ministry financially and with their time
and talents. For more information call our church office at 630-668-5147.

The photo on the left was taken of the nursery during LOGOS. The preschoolers
had a great time decorating pumpkins for Halloween while their parents were involved
in LOGOS activities with the older children (Kindergarten through 8th grade).
Below are photos of middle schoolers who do their Bible study in small groups.

Above and on the left, the middle schoolers find Bible study most helpful when
it is done in small groups that are usually all girls or all boys.
Below are are the results from the scavenger hunt we did throughout the church
neighborhoods to collect food for Christmas Sharing, held here at church in December
2007.

Above, we had a speaker from Wheaton Outreach come and speak to us about
older folks. Katie is experiencing what it might feel like to be "old" with
some help from a few props.

| These four photos were taken at the final LOGOS banquet on March
12, 2008. Above is the Bubble Man, who entertained us. Below on the left
are Mary Kinsey and the parents of 8th graders who would be entering high school
in the fall. Pictured are Catherine Rowland,
Diane Gordon, Mary Kinsey, Barb Matosian, Sher Kirschbaum, and Kathy Paradise. On
the right Jay and many of the girls helped lead a thank you song to all the adult
volunteers. |
