Blanket the World with Love
PW and Genesis Mission Project
February 2009
|
February is the month that PW collects donations for
BLANKET THE WORLD WITH LOVE. These blankets are
quite strong and can be doubled in half and even used as a
stretcher. In some disaster areas, people have used them to
fashion a tent! Wherever an emergency or natural disaster
strikes at home or abroad, these blankets are a great comfort
and a symbol of hope for those people who have lost
everything.

This PW mission is through CWS-Church World
Service of which the PC(USA) is a partner along with many
other denominations.
Phyllis Josephson, a PW World Service team member,
coordinated the program. To promote this program Alice
Lechiara created a lovely poster which was displayed with a
blanket and a little pink ribbon in the Son Light Rotunda. We
gave out the ribbons FREE for a donation. Even the men
were wearing them. A blanket costs $5, and this year we
collected $247. Genesis partnered with us, and the kids
enjoyed donating their coins at Logos during the month!
These middle school kids contributed $25 of our total.
Thanks to all who helped us provide 49 blankets for the world
with your love.
