Churches
of Wheaton and Glen Ellyn

First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton's Westminster Choir and the Sanctuary Choir
from the First Presbyterian Church of Glen Ellyn joined together to sing the Gospel
Mass by Robert Ray on Sunday, April 27, 2008. An instrumental ensemble accompanied
the two choirs. Composed in 1978, the Gospel Mass is Raymond Ray’s
interpretation of the combination of two thousand years of liturgical tradition with
the more contemporary music of the African-American Church.
The combined choirs sang as part of our 8:40 a.m. worship experience at First
Presbyterian Church of Wheaton. At 11:00 a.m. both church choirs sang the Gospel Mass at the First Presbyterian Church
of Glen Ellyn. Megan Marshall is the Director of Music / Organist from First
Presbyterian Church of Glen Ellyn, and David Lincoln is the Director of Music at
First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton.
