| Congregational Lunch and Meeting January 28, 2007
|
Our congregational meeting on Sunday, January 28, 2007, began
about 12:15 p.m. with a lunch. Jan Buscher, our
Business Administrator, is pictured in the center wearing a blue
jacket. |
|
|
|
Plenty of food and lots of choices were available for everyone,
and church members from all generations attended. |

|
|
Everyone enjoyed the opportunity to have lunch together and
converse with one another. |
|
|
The children also had fun!
|
 |
| After lunch the congregational meeting was held. Paul
Kirbas, our Pastor Head of Staff, was the moderator. First
was the corporate meeting, which Bruce Garner, President of Congregation,
opened with prayer. The 2006
Annual Report was received,
along with the Church Ministry and Program Staff Reports and
Financial Report. |
|
The Ecclesiastical Meeting was next. The minutes from
last year's annual meeting were approved. Mark Martillaro,
Moderator of the Congregational Nominating Committee, presented
the nominations for Elders, Deacons, At-Large Members to the
Congregational Nominating Committee, and the Associate Pastor
Nominating Committee. Each of the nominees was elected. |
|
| Denny Lawson, Moderator of the Human Resources Committee,
presented the proposed changes to the Pastors' Terms of Call.
Steve Van Oss, Treasurer and Office and Finance Committee Moderator,
presented the Session's Report of the 2007 Operating Budget. |
|
Dr. Paul Kirbas then presented his outstanding “State
of the Church” address. He
laid out what was right and wrong plus the directions we should
go. It was very informative
and well received.

All the adults were very interested in and
responsive to the meeting, which was extremely well attended
this year, the first time in recent memory that the annual congregational
meeting was combined with a lunch. |
| Following the meeting everyone enjoyed singing, accompanied
by David Lincoln on the piano. |
|
|
Cleanup does not take that long with many members helping.
