Consecration Sunday - November 16, 2008

Dr. Dennis Okholm was our guest preacher at both the 8:40 and 11:00 a.m. worship services on Consecration Sunday, November 16, 2008. His message, "The Danger of Being Loved," is available in real audio or mp3 format. It can be accessed from this page, our sermons page, or our sermons podcast.
Dr. Okholm is currently Professor of Theology at Azusa Pacific University in California and was previously a professor at Wheaton College. He is an author of several books and was also one of the instructors in our prior Pathways Adult Education Classes.
At the end of each service attendees were given 2009 Estimate of Giving Cards to complete and drop into baskets at the front of the church. Read more about this on our Stewardship page.
Everyone then proceeded to Stewart Hall for a delicious brunch catered by True Cuisine, which included fruit platters, scrambled eggs, egg casserole, potatoes, bacon, sausage, muffins, and coffee cake. The photos below are from the first brunch, which followed the 8:40 a.m. worship service.
The brunches provided a wonderful time of fellowship; and, as we enjoyed our meal, the Stewardship committee rapidly totaled up the pledge cards received this morning with preliminary (and very encouraging) budget results.
Our thanks to Bob Stevens for the photos and information!
