Kurt, Sue, and Family from the "Humanitarian Optical Project" were received at a reception at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2009.  Sue is the daughter of Ben and Jean Crane; and she and her husband were visiting after a year spent training opticians in NE Africa.  They also spoke about some of the highlights of their experience during the 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. services.

During the reception Kurt and Sue presented a wonderful slide show about their work in the Horn of Africa and brought  a table full of exhibits and articles from their project.  The family is returning to Africa to continue their work of training optical workers in the area.  We were delighted to visit with Sue and Kurt again and enjoyed the opportunity to see the results of their efforts.
