Presbyterian Women - September 6, 2007
Our Presbyterian Women (PW) Mission Possible start-up
was held on Thursday, September
6, beginning at 9:30 a.m. We assembled school
bags with school supplies from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. These
were then shipped to the Church
World Service warehouse where they are sorted and sent to disaster
areas at home and abroad.
We
then had a brief program at 11:00 a.m., followed by lunch at
11:45 a.m. in Stewart Hall. Participants brought their
own sandwiches; salads, desserts, and beverages were provided. During
lunch Pastor Caryle Aitken Wilkie presented an overview of our
2007-2008 Horizons Bible
Study, Above and Beyond - Hearing God's Call in Jonah and
Ruth. Our Bible Studies are held during our Circle meetings. |

During lunch
Pastor Caryle Aitken Wilkie shared an overview of the PW Bible
Study on Ruth and Jonah. It sounds very interesting and
enjoyable.

A member of PW shared her thoughts about Lynn
Austin’s
novel A Proper Pursuit, a story of a young
woman around the time of the Chicago World's Fair, looking for
her mother, dealing with meddling Aunts and young gentlemen callers. She
gave it a good recommendation. The story took place in
Lockport, IL.
