Presbyterian Women - September 6, 2007

Our Presbyterian Women (PW) Mission Possible start-up was held on Thursday, September 6, beginning at 9:30 a.m.   We assembled school bags with school supplies from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m.  These were then shipped to the Church World Service warehouse where they are sorted and sent to disaster areas at home and abroad.

We then had a brief program at 11:00 a.m., followed by lunch at 11:45 a.m. in Stewart Hall.  Participants brought their own sandwiches; salads, desserts, and beverages were provided.   During lunch Pastor Caryle Aitken Wilkie presented an overview of our 2007-2008 Horizons Bible Study, Above and Beyond - Hearing God's Call in Jonah and Ruth.  Our Bible Studies are held during our Circle meetings.

During lunch Pastor Caryle Aitken Wilkie shared an overview of the PW Bible Study on Ruth and Jonah.  It sounds very interesting and enjoyable.

A member of PW shared her thoughts about  Lynn Austin’s novel A Proper Pursuit,  a story of a young woman around the time of the Chicago World's Fair, looking for her mother, dealing with meddling Aunts and young gentlemen callers.  She gave it a good recommendation.  The story took place in Lockport, IL.
