Our first annual Presbyterian Women's Strawberry Breakfast on May 7, 2009, proved to be a delightful morning, and everyone agreed to make this an annual "Strawberry" event.  Pam Perkins, our guest speaker, enlightened us on "Growing and Cooking with Herbs."

Kim Van Oss has just announced this year's PW Honorary Life Membership to Ruth Chambliss.  (Note: Ruth is holding the official certificate and pin).  Kim had all in attendance stand at their tables. Then she said "If you have done the following, please remain standing: Circle Chair (past, present, future); Deacon; helped prepare communion; Girl Scout Leader; served on PW Luncheon Committees; served on Memorial committee; stooped down to weed, water, and plant the church grounds; served on Nominating committee; makes sure everyone has a ride to circle meetings; had Mayor of Wheaton declare a day in October in your honor; member of First Presbyterian Church for 46 years; if you are married to a man named Gordon.    Ladies:  I would like to present Ruth Chambliss with this year's Honorary Life Membership in Presbyterian Women.   Congratulations Ruth!"
