Supper Club - St. Patrick's Celebration
March 17, 2007
|
The First Pres Saturday-Nite Supper Club kicked off this
year’s season with the Second Annual St. Patrick’s
Dinner held in Stewart Hall on March 17, 2007.
Everyone enjoyed the traditional corned beef
and cabbage dinner, along with Irish quizzes, jokes, and music. |

|
| A record-breaking supper club crowd of 146 people was on
hand enjoying our usual combination of fun, food, and fellowship
typical of First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton. |

 |
Lowell Courtney, on the left, is an Irish lay minister
visiting our group. He was the guide for our
church group when they visited Ireland in July 2006.
Lowell Courtney joined Jack Wilson in telling Irish jokes. |
Donations were accepted for the Midwest
Shelter for Homeless Veterans (http://www.helpaveteran.org). On
the left, Marilyn Johnson won a drawing for a Belleek
vase from County Fermanagh, Ireland. On
the right, Phyllis Martillaro was the winner of a drawing for
a Belleek Irish Blessing ornament. These
items were donated by Robb Frank and Diane Easter.
|
|
Paul Burgess, on the piano, and Doug Boyd
led everyone in singing Irish songs. |
Jerry O'Neil led everyone in singing "That's Peggy O'Neil"
to his daughter, Peggy. |
|
Everyone then moved to the Ministry Center,
where Ann Herndon introduced the Wheaton North High School Show
Choir, which entertained everyone with a variety of songs.

Our thanks to Bob Stevens for the photos
