Club's St. Patrick's Day Celebration
March 18, 2006
| St. Patrick's Day was the theme of the Saturday-night
Supper Club's inaugural meal and entertainment on March 18, 2006,
in Stewart Hall at First Presbyterian Church. This new church
social activity proved to be very popular with over 100 people
in attendance. |

|
Jack Wilson welcomed everyone to the first Supper
Club dinner and entertained us with Irish jokes. |
 |
A traditional Irish dinner of corned beef, cabbage, potatoes,
and carrots, was enjoyed by all, with plenty of food available
for second helpings. |
|
Church members also enjoyed assorted cakes, green punch, coffee,
and tea, along with visiting with each other and getting to know each other better. |
|
Many of the people attending wore green in celebration of
St. Patrick's Day. A green hat and a Blarney Stone were
on each table. |
|
The words to several traditional Irish songs printed on green
paper were available for all in attendance. |
|
David Lincoln played the piano . . . |
|
And Georgia Hamilton led us all in singing Irish songs such
as "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling," "My Wild Irish
Rose," "Danny Boy," and George M. Cohan's "Harrigan." |
|
Mike Zenisek and others helped with the cleanup. |
 |
After supper, everyone went to the Sanctuary to listen to
several pieces sung by soprano Nancy Purcell, accompanied by David
A. Lincoln on the piano and organ. |
Our thanks to Bob Stevens for the photos and
to the Supper Club Committee, Sandy and Harold Crittenden, Ann
Herndon, Rev. Jerry Landrey, Marlene and Paul Luhrsen, Naomi and
Sam Mallory, Marge and Bob Stevens, and Jack Wilson, for a delightful
evening!
